Lough Acoose House is scenically situated only a few meters from Lough Acoose with beautiful views on the lake and on the MacGillyCuddy's Reeks with Carrauntoohill, Caher and Beenkeragh - the highest mountains in Ireland. Kerry Way, the most popular Irish walking trail is passing the house making it the perfect stopover before or after walking through the Black Valley. Ireland's most famous drive - the Ring of Kerry is just 15 mins. away.

This popular walking trail (click here for a map) passes near the house between Glenbeigh and the Black Valley. We are well prepared for walkers, offer evening meals, packed lunchesand laundry service. We cooperate with Shamrock B&B Black Valley and Emir
View B&B Glenbeigh and can provide Luggage Transfers between our B&Bs (small fees apply). Camping is available next door.

MacGillyCuddy's Reeks
Two tracks to Carrantuohill Mountain start only a few meters from the house. The Coomloughra Horseshoe [more...] is one of the finest ridge walks in Ireland covering the highest Irish mountains and takes about 6-8
hrs from the

Killarney and the Gap of Dunloe
A magnificent round trip over quiet Ballaghbeema Pass and through Moll's Gap leads you on a day tour through Killarney National Park past the famous lakes into Killarney town and further on to the Gap of Dunloe. The scenery is breathtaking and can best be enjoyed by foot on many marked walks or with jaunting cars waiting near Kate Kearney's Cottage to take you through the Gap with its beautiful views!
For another, longer day tour join the Ring of Kerry near Glenbeigh and follow the scenic coast road through Waterville to Kenmare.

Use our own fishing boat and catch trout or even the odd salmon! Coomloughra Lake is another fishing lake nearby.
